Besides hosting stalls and panel discussions, the summit will organise various programmes for women entrepreneurs.

Bengaluru: Taking its cue from the Union government, which is providing start-ups assistance of upto Rs 10 crore, the state government too is now planning to give its own sops to start- ups in Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Large and Medium Industries Minister, R V Deshpande said the sops would be announced during the two -day ThinkBig Summit in the city, scheduled for November 14 and 15, being hosted by the state government in association with WEConnect International.

Describing the forthcoming event as Asia's largest women entrepreneurship and economic empowerment platform, the minister said the main goal of ThinkBig 2016 was to connect women-owned business with public and private sector opportunities, that could dramatically impact their growth. “The summit will enable 4000 participants to engage in two days of interactive sessions,” he explained, promising all support from the state government to women entrepreneurs participating in it.

To begin with they would be reimbursed the WEConnect fee, he added.

Revealing that work was in progress to set up a women entrepreneurs centre in the state, the minister said the government also intended to showcase its preparedness to invite large investments at ThinkBig-2016.

Besides hosting stalls and panel discussions, the summit will organise various programmes for women entrepreneurs like WEPair, VPH, and VInvite Tax. Also, to honour and recognise successful women entrepreneurs, WEConnect would give away WECelebrate awards, he said.
