Hyderabad: Girl alleges life threat from mother

The girl sought HRC to help her free from their clutches and allow her to live peacefully.

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old girl hailing from Vemulawada of Rajanna Siricilla district approached the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), alleging that her mother along with her paramour was trying to push her into flesh trade, and they were a threat to her life. The girl sought HRC to help her free from their clutches and allow her to live peacefully.

The victim (20) in her petition to SHRC stated that after her father’s demise, her mother was in a relationship with a man from Vemulawada and the duo was forcing her to indulge in prostitution and earn money for her mother. When she refused to do so, the girl alleged that her mother abused her physically.

“I approached Vemulawada police, but they did not take any action. After approaching a court at Vemulawda, I got relief and stayed for three months at state-run home in Karimnagar and I am living in the city now.”
