Chandrayaan-2 inches closer to the moon

The next orbit raising manoeuvre is scheduled for August 6, between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm.

Nellore: Chandrayaan-2 is now four steps closer to the moon after Isro scientists successfully raised the orbit for the fourth time after launch at 3.27 pm on Friday.

Isro scientists fired the onboard propulsion system for 646 seconds, pushing the rocket to an orbit of stretching 277 km at its closes to the earth and 89,472 km at its farthest. All spacecraft parameters are normal, Isro said.

The next orbit raising manoeuvre is scheduled for August 6, between 2.30 pm and 3.30 pm. After a sixth manoeuvre, the spacecraft will reach switch to the lunar transfer orbit.
