‘BJP govt in Karnataka will give Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu’
TIRUCHY: Tamil Nadu BJP president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan said since the BJP assumed office in Karnataka, her party will ensure to get adequate Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu from the upper riparian state.
Speaking to newsmen at Tiruchy Airport on Friday, she justified the union Government’s attempt to pass as many legislations as possible in the ongoing Parliament session as “speed is needed for achieving planned growth in the country.”
She said all the bills passed by the Union Government were done properly including the road safety bill which is aimed at ensuring the safety of the vehicle riders, besides to improve the road network.
She dismissed the DMK Lok Sabha member Dayanidhi Maran’s allegation that the BJP Government did not provide an opportunity for the opposition parties to air their views on the draft new educational policy, as baseless.
Referring to the Triple Talaq bill, she said it will benefit Muslim women.
Later, Dr Tamilisai along with the party’s senior leaders Pon. Radhakrishnan, L.Ganesan and others participated in a meeting on intensifying the BJP’s membership drive in Tamil Nadu.
