Jazeera Airways flight catches fire, all are safe
Hyderabad: Flight number J9 608 (Jazeera Airways) from Kuwait to Hyderabad caught fire due to technical issue soon after landing at 1.30 am at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Thursday. All the passengers and the crew were evacuated safetly.
The fire was brought under control soon after the pilots switched off the engine. All the passengers and crew were safely evacuated from the aircraft, sources said. A spark was witnessed in the right engine while the aircraft was approaching the taxiway due to a technical snag in the engine.
A fire broke out immediately. The fire tenders rushed to the spot as per the protocol, but the fire stopped with the pilots shutting down the engine. The aircraft was later shifted to bay no. 59. Jazeera Airways is yet to issue a statement on the technical snag that caused spark in the right engine.
