Telangana: Modi likely to inaugurate Metro in November

Hyderabad is also hosting the Global Investors' Summit in November, which will also be attended by the Prime Minister.

Hyderabad: After it missed several deadlines, the 12-km Miyapur-SR Nagar and the 8-km Nagole-Mettuguda Metro Rail stretches are likely to become operational in November this year. The TRS government is planning to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the 20-km Metro Rail network.

Hyderabad is also hosting the Global Investors’ Summit in November, which will also be attended by the Prime Minister.

A senior official in the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department said, “Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities have already started a beautification project at these stretches. Earlier, the government had planned to inaugurate the 50-km stretch. However, this was converted into two phases.”

Construction major L&T, which is undertaking the urban rail transport system in the city, is making all efforts to complete the work of Secunderabad rail over bridge so that the Metro Rail network can be extended to Hyderabad Public School. The two major pending works are: Oliphant bridge and Begumpet rail over bridge.
