Telangana government official's tour delays RERA law

Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department secretary Navin Mittal is on tour in Japan since Saturday.

Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has not been able to issue notification on the Real Estate Regulation and Development (RERA) Act due to the non-availability of the secretary concerned to sign on the file.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department secretary Navin Mittal is on tour in Japan since Saturday.

Principal secretary of Transport, Roads & Buildings Sunil Sharma, who has been given additional charge of the MA&UD department, is on leave for two days.

The Centre had directed all state governments to issue notification on RERA rules by July 31. The CMO sent the file on RERA draft rules to the MA&UD department for issuing the notification, but the file was not signed by the incharge secretary as he was on leave.

The department has blocked GO No. 202 on the issue of RERA rules’ notification. The department officials said Sunil Sharma would join duty on Friday and they would issue the notification the same day.
