K Chandrasekhar Rao announces new Eamcet after paper leak
Hyderabad: As had been expected, Eamcet-2 was cancelled by the Telangana government on Tuesday.
Terming the paper leak as very unfortunate, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao stated that the government was left with no option but to conduct the entrance test again.
“The concerns and agony of students to write the Eamcet again can be understood. I urge parents to give up their opposition and to instead co-operate with the government for the smooth conduct of Eamcet-3," Mr Rao said.
The government decided to waive the registration fee for the exam for all applicants who wrote Eamcet-2, extend the facility of free journey in state-owned TSRTC and also provide free study material and question banks on the JNTU website.
The CM chaired a high-level meeting attended by education minister Kadiyam Srihari, medical and health minister C. Laxma Reddy and senior officials from Education and Health departments as well as CID officials.
JNTU was asked to conduct Eamcet-3 with foolproof arrangements, ruling out any scope for irregularities. Mr Rao directed the JNTU V-C to take all necessary steps.
In view of candidates being allowed to write with the same hall-ticket, he told officials to identify more examination centres and pass on information to candidates well in advance.
The meeting discussed extensively on how various governments had dealt with 70 such paper leak scandals reported from different parts of the country in the past.
Mr Rao went through judgments given by High Courts and the Supreme Court while hearing those cases.
