Ooty: The dumping of garbage and plastic waste inside the woods on the Yedappalli road near Coonoor suburb limits has become a cause of concern as these pose a threat to the health of the jungle ecology and animals.

Sources in the Coonoor suburb limits said that in recent times, some private plantations in the nearby area as well as a couple of civic bodies in the village limits have taken to the practice of dumping waste, including plastic, inside the woods either in the early morning or in the late evening.
