A case has been registered against the van driver and efforts are on to nab him.
Hyderabad: A pedestrian was mowed down by a speeding van at Kompally under Pet Basheerabad police station limits during early hours on Tuesday.
According to the Pet Basheerabad police, the victim, Ashok, 61, of Bolaram was walking home at about 8 am after finishing his night shift as a security guard at a private firm in Kompally.
When Ashok was crossing the road, a van (AP29 V 2877) which was moving towards the city, hit him. Ashok suffered critical injuries to his head. Passersby alerted the police who rushed to the spot but Ashok was dead by then.
A case has been registered against the van driver and efforts are on to nab him. Ashok’s body was handed over to his family after the autopsy at Gandhi Hospital mortuary.
