Telangana: 2014 batch students are worst hit, feel experts
Hyderabad: There is no clarity on the registration process for post-graduate doctors in Telangana state as the government has not stated when it would release their certificates.
Conditional registration letters were issued in the state in March during recruitment for the posts of assistant professors in government hospitals. This conditional registration is not applicable in other states where the registration certificate from the Telangana Medical Council is important. Senior residents doctors are upset with the manner in which the government is handling the situation.
Dr P.S. Vijayender, chairman of Telangana Junior Doctors Association, said, “Registration for 2015 batch is being done as their certificates are released by the government. The 2014 batch students have to submit attendance and relieving order from the principal. This batch is the worst hit as they are senior residents but their registrations are at stake due to the different orders issued by the government from time to time.”
The Telangana Medical Council has asked the doctors to wait for two to three days. This is getting a lot of them angry as they are losing their chance of getting employment. While minister Dr Laxma Reddy has been apprised of the situation by junior doctors there are no formal orders yet.
