Bengaluru: Expressing displeasure at the members getting signatures of the Chief Minister and other ministers when the House is in session, Assembly Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar gave a piece of his mind to them. When Opposition leader B.S. Yeddyurappa was speaking on the condolence motion on Monday, many senior members were seen moving towards Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to get his signatures for their files.
A visibly upset Mr Ramesh Kumar advised the members to maintain the decorum of the House. “The members should maintain the decorum of the House. While the Leader of the Opposition or any member is speaking on any subject, others should listen. Moving around and trying to get the signatures of the Chief Minister or any other minister during the session is nothing but indiscipline. Besides, these are office works and the members should get them done in the chambers of the Chief Minister or other ministers,” Mr Ramesh Kumar said.
Earlier, when Mr Ramesh Kumar was about to move the condolence motion he found many members still standing and talking to each other in the House. He made polite announcements twice to the members to take their seat. When the members paid no heed, the Speaker who lost his cool, started naming the members one by one. Within no time, the members rushed to their seats.
