Rs 30 crore CGST boon to TTD from Centre

The benefits can be calculated once the government provides the detailed guidelines regarding the same.

TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is likely to get about '25 crore to '30 crore from the Centre’s decision to reimburse CGST under “Seva Bhoj Yojana” from financial years 2018-19 to 2019-20.

The benefits can be calculated once the government provides the detailed guidelines regarding the same.

The TTD had been requesting the Centre to grant exemption from the GST as the institution is service based.

An order was released by the Union ministry of culture May 31, saying that under the Seva Bhoj Yojana scheme, CGST and the Central government’s share of IGST paid on specific items by charitable religious institutions for distributing free food to public shall be reimbursed as financial assistance by the Government of India. It is also said that the financial outlay of the scheme is Rs 350 crore.
