Nellore: Chandrababu Naidu to interact with villagers

The CM will also address a public meeting at V.R. College ground in Nellore City the same day.

Nellore: As part of Nava Nirmana Deeksha, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would visit Juvvaladinne village in SPSR Nellore district on June 8 and interact with villagers. The village is popular in the district since freedom fighter Sri Potti Sriramulu had lived there for some time and there is also a memorial for him in the habitation.

The CM will also address a public meeting at V.R. College ground in Nellore City the same day. Urban development minister P. Narayana shared the information with media persons after a review of the arrangements and other issues here on Saturday.

He said he had directed the officials concerned to examine the reasons for the rejection of 100 applications under the housing scheme and submit a report within three days. The minister had met some of these applicants and elicited information from them.

According to him, they have sanctioned 43,000 houses in corporation limits and 73,000 in six municipalities of Nellore district under housing scheme. The union government has sanctioned '30 crore under Amruth scheme and it will be used for beautification of Nellore tank. There is also a proposal to build a ghat at Sri Irukalala Parameswari temple.

Referring to '20 crore promised by the Chief Minister for development works at Bara Shaheed Dargah, he said the plans include construction of shopping complex and rooms for tourists, ghat development and play area for children.

Giving a facelift to 3 km long Sarveypalli canal and 1 km long Jafar Saheb Canal besides four bridges on canals within the town to ease traffic congestion is part of the proposals.

Tenders would be called for these works before the end of next week, he said.

The minister said municipal department and Nellore Urban Development Authority would jointly develop parks, graveyards and roads in urban areas of the district.

MLC Beeda Ravichan-dra, NUDA chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, former legislator M. Sridharkrishna Reddy and TDP state vice president Tallapaka Anuradha were present.
