Regional Ring Road to link Telangana with its future

Government would now ground the RRR project as the Outer Ring Road was complete, says KCR.

Hyderabad: The state government will soon take up the Regional Ring Road project in Hyderabad. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said on Thursday that the government would now ground the RRR project as the Outer Ring Road was complete.

He added that the RRR would connect the new and emerging areas beyond ORR and act as a linkage for districts surrounding the city and the highways.

The CM said the RRR alignment is planned to go through Bhongir, Chotuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Shadnagar, Chevella, Shankarapally, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel and Jagadevpur.

“Last year, we stood first in the country in IT exports at Rs 68,258 crore. Global giants like Microsoft, Google, IBM, Oracle etc. have expanded their operations here. Top national IT firms like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, TechMahindra, besides top global giants like Apple, Google, Amazon etc., also in the process of expanding their operations. We have recently released the state's new IT policy with an aim of making Hyderabad the most favourable destination for IT/ ITES sectors. Various companies signed MoUs to set up their units here on the day of the policy launch itself, showing how attractive our policy is,” Mr Rao said.

He praised the T-Hub, the technology incubator, for start-ups set up by the government in PPP mode, which has been attracting national and international attention.

After the T-Hub success, global IT giant Apple recently set up its technology mapping and development centre in Hyderabad.
