Railways cancels 95 trains in 2 days

It will grant full refund to passengers for the cancelled or diverted trains if tickets are produced within three days from the journey date.

Visakhapatnam/New Delhi: The Railways said on Thursday that around 95 trains had been cancelled in the last two days in view of Supercyclome Fani. Of this, 15 trains cross the East Coast Railway zone.

The cancelled trains include those running between Rourkela-Gunu-pur, Secunderabad-Kama-khya, Santragachi-Chennai, Howrah-Yesvantpur, Howrah-Chennai, Patna Jn-Ernakulam Jn, Bhubaneswar-Tirupati, Prashanti Nilayam-Howrah, Yesvantpur-Howrah, Secunderabad-Howrah, Bengaluru-Agartala and Secunderabad-Bhuban-eswar.

Other trains cancelled were between Bhubane-swar and destinations like KSR Bengaluru City, Vizag and Secunderabad and between Puri and Gandhidham.

The Secunderabad-Bhu-baneswar Express will be short terminated at Vizag and the Vizag-Bhuba-neswar train has been cancelled. Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad Express leaving Bhubaneswar on May 3 will be short originated at Vizag instead of Bhubaneswar and the service between both these cities is cancelled.

Passenger trains such as Gunupur-Palasa, Palasa-Vizag, Palasa-Vizianagaram, Gunupur-Vizag, Vizag-Srikakulam and Vizag-Brahmapur are cancelled. The Gandhidham-Puri Express will be diverted via Titlagarh, Sambalpur, Angul and Kurdha Road.

The Amritsar-Vizag Express will be diverted via Sambalpur, Titlagarh and Vizianagaram, the Guwahati-Kochivel Express via Kharagpur, Jharsguda, Sambalpur, Titlagarh, Vizianagaram and Vizag.

After the warning of severe cyclonic storm, the railways has provided helpline numbers at various stations in Waltair Division including Srika-kulam, Naupada, Duvv-ada, Bobbili, Rayagada and Vizianagaram.

There is no disruption in the movement of buses. The APSRTC is monitoring the weather in the coastal areas, particularly Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.

APSRTC executive director, Vizianagaram zone, P.V. Rama Rao, said the RTC will take all precautionary steps.
