Hyderabad: Man held for attacking neighbours
Hyderabad: A businessman from Malkajgiri, who reportedly attacked his neighbours for complaining against him to the GHMC for carrying out an illegal construction, was arrested by Malkajgiri police and remanded to judicial custody on Thursday.
Police said, Upputoori Ramanaiah, 38, a businessman from NMDC Colony in Malkajgiri had taken plots in the area. The GHMC has given permission only for construction of ground and two floors, but Ramanaiah started constructing a third floor, to which the other residents objected and complained to the GHMC.
On Wednesday, when the GHMC was demolishing the illegal construction, Ramanaiah reportedly picked a quarrel with his neighbours and verbally abused them. He allegedly slapped a woman resident and tried to hit her with a stick, but she managed to escape and complained to the police.
