Hyderabad: Man booked for misbehaving with co-flyer

The airport police said it was conducting an inquiry to ascertain the facts.

Hyderabad: A man from the city who allegedly misbehaved with a female co-passenger in a flight from Hyderabad to Mumbai was booked by the RGI Airport police of the Cyberabad commissionerate following a complaint from an on-board staffer of the airline.

The airport police said it was conducting an inquiry to ascertain the facts.

The suspect, 40, is a resident of Malkajgiri under the Rachakonda police commissionerate limits. He had boarded an IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to Mumbai during early hours on Wednesday.

He was reportedly in an inebriated condition when he boarded the flight.

After getting on board, the passenger reportedly misbehaved with a female co-passenger. The incident was brought to the notice of a female flight attendant, who warned him against troubling the female passenger. Despite this, the man didn’t refrain from his behaviour and began to harass the flight attendant as well.

The victim then lodged a complaint with the RGIA police on the same day, following which a case was booked against the male passenger under sections 354 and 354 A of the IPC for the probe.

When contacted, a Cyberabad police official confirmed the incident and the registration of the case, and said, “We have initiated an inquiry into the complaint, and are in the process of recording statements of the victims and their co-passengers. Based on the facts, further necessary action will be initiated.”

The alleged accused has not been arrested yet, said the official.
