Chennai boys emerge toppers in CBSE exams
Chennai lad G. Karthik Balaji emerged as topper bagging third rank in the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) examination, scoring 497 out of 500 marks. Another lad Shreyansh Amit Shah, has emerged as a topper.
As per board results which were released on Thursday Chennai region has the highest pass percentage at 92.93 per cent.
A student of PSBB Senior Secondary School K.K. Nagar, Karthik Balaji scored 497 marks with centums in Mathematics and Chemistry. Karthik, had also captained the cricket team of his school.
While two students have secured 499 marks, three students have secured 498 marks and 18 students have scored 497 marks. The board's Thiruvananthapuram region has the highest pass percentage at 98.20 followed by Chennai at 92.93 per cent and Delhi at 91.87 per cent.
Shreyansh Amit Shah, a student of Kola Saraswathi Vaishnav Senior Secondary School found a place in the list of toppers under the CWSN (Children with special needs) category. He scored a total of 485 marks with 99 marks in mathematics.
The announcement of the results took students and teachers across the country by surprise as they were expected only later this month.
PM Narendra Modi congratulated the students on clearing the exams. "Congratulations to all my young friends who have successfully passed the CBSE Class XII examinations. My best wishes to them for their endeavours. Kudos also to their parents and teachers for the valuable support," he tweeted.
Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar spoke to the toppers and congratulated them on their success. "I have spoken to the toppers and congratulated them on their success. I congratulate all students who have cleared the exam and those who could not make it, they should not get demotivated and work harder for next attempts," he said.
