No bus shelters in Cyberabad

On one hand, hawkers occupied the bus shelters at Kukatpally and on the other, a bus-stop at Kondapur welcomes visitors with sewerage.

Hyderabad: There is no escape for bus commuters of Cyberabad from the scorching heat. Be it the “face of Metro” Miyapur station or the ever-busy KPHB colony, people have to face the blazing sun due to lack of proper shelters. While some places have temporary arrangements with tents, several bus shelters like Nizampet which were removed to facilitate works on the Metro Rail are yet to be instantiated. Some of the bus stops in Cyberabad that are in need of shelters are located Waverock Nanakramguda, Kukatpally, Moosapet, Nizampet and Miyapur.

While on one side of the Miyapur Metro station, green cover has been put up to provide a shade, the commuters on the other side are left exposed to the sun. On one hand, hawkers occupied the bus shelters at Kukatpally and on the other, a bus-stop at Kondapur welcomes visitors with sewerage.

Even at the KPHB Metro station, a new model bus stop is being built because of which a tent has been set up for shade. These KPHB bus shelters are a part of the GHMC’s prototype initiative to set up quality bus stops. An official pointed that designs of these prototypes if approved will be replicated across eight hundred bus stops

T. Mahesh a commuter at Miyapur station said, “This temporary shed is not helping especially in this hot summer. It would be better if they complete the works soon as this has been the case for past 5 months.”
