Nellore: 3.6 kg gold found in ACB searches

The teams also found documents related to LIC deposits in the lockers on Wednesday.

Nellore: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials found gold ornaments weighing 3.65 kg and silver articles weighing 7 kg in bank lockers belonging to transport department attender K. Narasimha Reddy at Cooperative Bank and City Union Bank branches here on Wednesday.

ACB teams had discovered property worth Rs 80 crore in the name of Reddy and his family on Tuesday, and the teams continued their search on Wednesday.

Among the properties to surface on Tuesday were Rs 7.70 lakh in cash, bank balances of Rs 20 lakh, household articles worth Rs 5 lakh, 2 kg gold, 7 kg silver, two motorcycles, LIC deposits worth Rs 1.01 crore and LIC policies with a total premium of Rs 10 lakh. The teams also found documents related to LIC deposits in the lockers on Wednesday.

Suspecting that Reddy may not have been acting alone in accumulating this unprecedented wealth, ACB officials are likely to probe deeper into his activities, a possibility that has reportedly set off tremors within Nellore’s transport department.
