Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has collected Rs 437.75 crore under the Early Bird Scheme. As many as 5,32,108 defaulters have paid their property tax out of which 1,96,166 tax payers have paid online .
Last year, the corporation had collected Rs 362.54 crore under the Early Bird Rebate Scheme. When compared to last year, this year Rs 75.21 crore is in excess.
The Early Bird Rebate Scheme has shown a significant increase in the amount collected from defaulters from 2015 onwards. In 2015-16, the corporation collected Rs 161.38 crore, Rs 212 crore in 2016-17, Rs 362.54 crore in 2017-18 and Rs 437.75 crore in 2018 till date.
