Hyderabad: Students of the University of Hyderbad are questioning the playing of controversial songs in a cultural event Sukoon, the annual function of the university.
The students were irked by the song of Mandir wahin banayege which was played at the closing ceremony on Sunday.
The students have registered a protest with the ABVP and are upset with the cultural event being turned into a platform for political discourse which was not the purpose.
A mild tension-like situation prevailed on Sunday evening and from Monday onwards students have been active on diferrent social media platforms demanding the student union to take action against those who have tried to include the song in a cultural event.
The students want the union to not get indulged in such an activity and keep the cultural events in the university apolitical.
