Kerala’s voter awareness train reaches Renigunta rail station

The four trains displayed important contacts and voter helpline numbers and the National Voters’ Services Portal for the sake of voters.

Tirupati: Chittoor district election officer and collector P.S. Pradyumna on Tuesday morning welcomed the election awareness train Kerala Express that carried statements stressing for 100 per cent voting, in the upcoming Parliamentary elections, at Renigunta Railway station, near Tirupati.

As part of voter awareness campaign for Lok Sabha Election 2019, the Election Commission of India and the Indian Railways jointly came together to utilise four long distance trains to carry out voter awareness and to spread motivational messages.

The four trains displayed important contacts and voter helpline numbers and the National Voters’ Services Portal for the sake of voters. Besides this, the trains also displayed motivational messages, urging the voters to cast their votes.

The train, that travels from Kerala to New Delhi, reached Renigunta during the wee hours on Tuesday and was welcomed by the district collector. As part of the awareness campaign, the staff distributed election awareness pamphlets and posters to the passengers.

Speaking on the occasion, the collector said that all the staff of administrative department with the help of EC was striving hard to increase the poll percentage to 90 percent from 80 per cent in 2014.
