Development in reverse gear in Congress tenure: PM Modi

The Prime Minister also used the occasion to criticize the grand old party for coining the term “Hindu terror”.

Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar kick-started 2019 election campaign with their political rallies at Bihar’s Jamui and Gaya on Tuesday.

While addressing public meetings in both the Lok Sabha constituencies Prime Minister slammed the Congress and other Mahagathbandhan allies for misleading the nation in the name of development and governance.

“Whenever Congress and its allies come to power, governance and development goes into reverse gear. Terrorism, corruption, the credibility of country and morale of our armed forces decline whenever they come to power,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said while addressing the masses on Tuesday.

This was Mr Modi’s first political rally in Bihar after election schedule was announced.

A number of NDA leaders including deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan were present during the event in Jamui and Gaya.

Union minister and LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan’s son Chirag Paswan is in fray from Jamui constituency and Vijay Manjhi of JD(U) is contesting from Gaya seat against former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Hitting out the Congress and its allies during the rally, PM said that the Opposition parties have ganged up against the government because it is working to maintain the credibility of the country.

The Prime Minister also used the occasion to criticize the grand old party for coining the term “Hindu terror”.

“When today the whole world is standing with our country few Mahamilawti leaders are speaking Pakistan’s language. But don’t worry your chowkidar is alert and need your blessings to finish all pending works and serve the nation”.

Adding further he said, “Before 2014 innocent people were being killed by terrorists. There used to be bomb blast everywhere in the country but after May 2014 situation changed and all these terrorists went into hiding,” Prime Minister said.

He also hailed Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi for working for the development of Bihar.

“I congratulate Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his government for changing the face of Bihar”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
