CPI to support Congress for Chevella seat

After the meeting, the CPI leaders announced that they have decided to support candidates of secular parties in the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

Hyderabad: The Communist Party of India on Tuesday extended its support to Mr Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, the Congress candidate for the Chevella Lok Sabha seat.

Earlier in the day, Mr Reddy met CPI state secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and the party’s former Rajya Sabha member Aziz Pasha at Magdoom Bhavan in Hyderabad and sought their support.

After the meeting, the CPI leaders announced that they have decided to support candidates of secular parties in the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

They said the party would support Mr Vishweshwar Reddy as he was committed to serving people and the NGO run by him was helping the minorities in the state in several aspects.
