Chief Secretary SK Joshi seeks extra forces for polls

Hyderabad: Chief secretary S.K. Joshi on Tuesday said the state machinery has been extending all support and logistics to the Election Commission for the smooth conduct of polls in the state.

He said this while discussing the election arrangements with senior deputy election commissioners Umesh Sinha and Sudheep Jain at the Secretariat.

Mr Joshi discussed with the Election Commission officials the need for deploying 145 companies of paramilitary forces in the state during the elections.

He also said extra arrangements need to be made in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency where 185 candidates have filed nominations.
