Balija voters to decide fate in six Assembly segments

Hariprasad was appoi-nted as AUDA chairman, and another senior leader Sudha Durgaprasad nominated as state party general secretary.

Kadapa: Annamaiah Urban Development Authority chairman Balisetty Hariprasad is seriously working to control dissidence among Balija youth. Balijas are strong in six Assembly constituencies in the district.

According to reliable sources, Balija voters are 20,286 in Badvel where the leading community, Reddys have 41,185 voters. They are in the third place at Kadapa with 23,020 votes, where Muslims are first with 55,776, followed by Reddys with 37,484 votes.

Balijas are in the first place at Railway Kodur with 22,399 votes, followed by Reddys with 20,683 votes. Balijas are in the second place with 22,375 voters in Mydukur, where Reddys are the leading community with 46,057 voters.

Balija voters are in the third place with 24,824 votes in Rajampeta, where the dominant community, the Muslims have 26,528 votes and Reddys follow with 26,187 votes. Balija voters are 12,699 in Rayachoti in the fourth place where Muslims are 56,949, Reddys 41,612 and Vadderas 14,289.

All these six electorates will have Balija voters deciding the victor. The Jana Sena may spilt Balija votes. This is the main threat to the TD which got most votes in the last election.

After the declaration of tickets, there was rebellion in some constituencies, but the high command assured dissident leaders of better positions in the future.

Mr Hariprasad was appointed as AUDA chairman, and another senior leader Sudha Durgaprasad nominated as state party general secretary.

Since the last two weeks Mr Hariprasad has been travelling across all villages in all constituencies with his associates and controlling dissidence among the community.

The AUDA chairman is proposing a meeting on Wednesday at Rahamtiya Kalyana Mandapam in Kadapa with Balija community leaders in the district to support the Telugu Desam.
