KOZHIKODE: Vadakara police on Monday arrested Sadayam studio owner Vaikkilassery Cherukott Meethal Dinesan and his brother Satheesan after the women in the area complained that the brothers facilitated morphing of their videos taken during weddings and other public functions. According to police, the men were nabbed from their relative's house in Kunduthode, near Thottilpalam. Rural SP MK Pushkaran told this newspaper that the video editor Vibeesh is also under the radar and would be arrested in a day.
Vibeesh, is a video-editor, hailing from Kaiveli, but stays in Vaikkilassery. The issue cropped up after he left the studio owned by the brothers and started his own studio in Purameri. The victims allege that the owners were aware of Vibeesh morphing the video clippings, and they encouraged it, till he broke ranks.
The victims alleged a conspiracy between the police and that the CPM was delaying the arrest of the owners of the studio, their father being a branch committee member of the party. The victims had approached the police six months ago, but no action was taken other than some mediation talks, they said.
