TD took Rs 150 crore from Vijay Mallya: YSRC MP Vijayasai Reddy

Speaking to media persons in Delhi, Mr Vijayasai Reddy said that the donation was given to Mr Naidu between 2009 and 2014.

Hyderabad: Escalating the war of words between the YSR Congress and the ruling Telugu Desam, YSRC MP Vijayasai Reddy on Monday accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of taking Rs 150 crore as party fund from former liquor baron Vijay Mallya.

Speaking to media persons in Delhi, Mr Vijayasai Reddy said that the donation was given to Mr Naidu between 2009 and 2014.

Going further, Mr Vijayasai Reddy said the Chief Minister had met Vijaya Mallya in London on March 12, 13 and 14 in 2016 and demanded an explanation as to why he had met a person who is facing the charges of fraud and money laundering and is absconding from the country.

Reacting on these allegations, Telugu Desam MP C.M. Ramesh challenged Mr Vijayasai Reddy to prove his allegations against the Chief Minister.

Mr Ramesh said Mr Vijayasai Reddy is the accused No. 2 in 12 cases and is therefore unfit to be a politician.

Mr Vijayasai Reddy, meanwhile, has moved a privilege motion aga-inst the Andhra Prad-esh Chief Minister Naidu accusing him of insulting Prime Mini-ster Narendra Modi and also his office in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
