Radhika Reddy showed no signs of depression: Pals

Venkannagari Radhika Reddy left a suicide note stating that her brain is her enemy.

Hyderabad: A 36-year-old woman working as a newsreader in a regional news channel in the city allegedly jumped to death on Sunday night from the apartment where she lived. Venkannagari Radhika Reddy left a suicide note stating that her brain is her enemy. The police has registered a case of suspicious death and started a probe. Though depression could be the primary cause of the suicide, a probe is on to verify if she was under pressure by someone or any other aspects that had forced her to take this step.

“We will inquire about her movements at office on Sunday before she left to go home. Her call data is also being analysed. Based on the evidence, the investigation will proceed,” the police said. According to the police, Radhika had married and had a son but was divorced six years ago. She married another person, but he divorced her recently, after which she was residing along with her sister and parents at a flat in Moosapet.

Her colleagues said Radhika showed no signs of being depressed. “She did any programme actively and with a smile. We never knew a volcano was hiding inside,” said a colleague. Anchor Jhansi said that Radhika had been working for autistic kids at the Aarambha foundation, where her son studied. “She was a great motivation for other mothers at the foundation,” added Jhansi.
