Power workers to hold rally against electricity bill in Delhi tomorrow

He said this method is the cost to public for profit of private companies.

Hyderabad: Electricity employees and engineers from across the country will hold a massive rally at New Delhi on Tuesday against the proposed amendments to the Electricity (Amendments) Bill.

About one lakh people are expected to attend the meeting. In a statement, All India Power Engineers Federation chairman Shailendra Dubey said that the proposed Bill is to create privatise discoms and will throw businesses out of gear.

He said this method is the cost to public for profit of private companies. He demanded that the government to stop enactment of proposed Electricity Bill in parliament without prior discussion with the representatives of organisations of electricity employees and engineers.
