Nothing has been done in 4 years: Supreme Court

Mr Singh sought four weeks to file the counter affidavit.

Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice to the Centre on a PIL filed by Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, deputy leader in Telangana State Legislative Council, for implementing many provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

While questioning Additional Solicitor General Manindar Singh about the steps taken to implement the Act, the Bench said it appears that nothing has been done since the past four years. Mr Singh sought four weeks to file the counter affidavit.

According to the petitioner, separate High Courts for Telangana and AP as per Section 31 of the Act; allocation of Andhra Bhavan as per Section 48 of the Act; Pension liability as per Section 59; Distribution of Employees as per Section 77; Distribution of employees in various public sector corporations as per Section 82 and others were not implemented.
