No bhagiratha water for Adilabad villages
Forest minister Jogu Ramanna said all habitations will get water by December 2017.
Adilabad: The wait for potable water in interior villages in Adilabad district may get longer as laying of pipelines through hillocks and forests got delayed. The drinking water was supposed to be supplied to these villages under Mission Bhagiratha.
Officials say laying pipelines in the forest areas is an uphill task and a shortage of water has also affected the construction of OHR tanks in tribal areas.
As a result, the officials may not be able to supply drinking water from the Kumaram Bheem irrigation project to Adivasi gudems this summer. Forest minister Jogu Ramanna said all habitations will get water by December 2017.
