Maulana Azad National Urdu University students' stir today

The union said it will enforce a boycott of classes on Monday.

Hyderabad: The Maulana Azad National Urdu University Students' Union has declared a strike on Monday at its campus in Gachibowli. The union said it was protesting against the fee hike, a recent UGC gazette that it said adversely affects students, and eviction of students from hostels.

Students added that they will continue their protests until their demands are met. The union said it will enforce a boycott of classes on Monday. “We are also demanding a supplementary examination for students who failed in the first attempt. They must get another opportunity to clear the exam,” said Arshad Alam, students union vice-president.

A new hostel must be constructed immediately and those who were given a showcause last year for a protest in the university must be given justice, he said.
