In most such incidents, the victims did not know swimming and entered the pool out of enthusiasm.
Thiruvannamalai: The Dusi Police on Saturday evening fished out two bodies-, of Vijayalakshmi (12), daughter of K.Sankar and Srimathy (9), daughter of
Balu and both residents of Vadamavanthal village near Cheyyar, - from a public tank.
Police said preliminary investigations showed the girls who were students of ninth and fourth class of a local school, were taking bath in the tank when they slipped and drowned.
Balu, father of one of the girls, filed a complaint with the police. The bodies of the deceased would be sent for post-mortem on Sunday, police said. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
