BENGALURU: The PU board, which held a series of meetings on Saturday to discuss the Chemistry question paper leak fiasco, has decided to prepare three new sets of question papers instead of using those already set to ensure there is no foul play during the April 12 re-exam.
It also decided to use the services of principals and senior lecturers of government PU colleges for the examination work as its examination section currently has no one left with the suspension of 40 officials after the second leak.
"The deputed staff will begin work from Monday. There will be tighter security this time," said an officer, revealing that the meetings discussed ways to make the coming Chemistry re-examination tamper-proof. “A few officials from other sections of the board will be kept away from the examination work," sources said.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Kimmane Rathnakar, meanwhile announced that he would personally supervise the process leading upto the re- examination to make sure there were no hiccups.
But while the minister and officers of the board were busy brainstorming over the holding of the re-exam, students continued their protest before the PU board office in Malleswaram on Saturday, demanding its cancellation. The police was out in large number at the office to make sure the situation did not escalate.
