Hyderabad metro gets Imadul trust land
The junction will now be widened by 16 feet and work of five remaining pillars will be taken up soon.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail has acquired 15 feet of the Imadul Trust at the Srinagar Colony junction after paying a compensation of Rs 2.56 crore. Metro Rail works were affected due to a compound wall of the graveyard.
HMR managing director N.V.S. Reddy said it took three years of negotiations by the government and minority welfare secretary Syed Omar Jaleel to persuade the Wakf Board and the trust to shift their compound wall.
The junction will now be widened by 16 feet and work of five remaining pillars will be taken up soon. During this time, traffic will be diverted via Big Bazaar, according to officials.
