JEE candidates avoid wearing shoes, wristwatches, says coordinator

Candidates will be asked to remove their shoes and after checking they will be allowed inside, says Mr Mathyas Reddy, JEE city coordinator.

Hyderabad: Candidates writing the Joint Entrance Examination Main on Sunday should preferably not go to the centre wearing shoes. They may wear open sandals. Wristwatches will not be allowed. They should carry the hall-ticket and nothing else. Mr Mathyas Reddy, JEE-2016 Warangal city coordinator told DC that candidates wearing shoes will be thoroughly checked at the entrance.

“Candidates will be asked to remove their shoes and after checking they will be allowed inside. To save time it’s better that they wear slippers or sandals,” he added.

Mr Seetha Kiran, Hyderabad city coordinator, asked candidates not to carry electronic gadgets like mobiles and watches to the centre. Wall clocks will be kept in each room for the convenience of students.

Nearly 1.17 lakh students from TS and AP will be attempting the offline JEE-Main that will be held in three centres in TS — Hyderabad, Warangal and Khammam — and four in AP — Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and Tirupati.

Paper-I for BTech courses will be held from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and Paper-II for B.Arch and B. Planning will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm. Candidates will not be allowed even if they are late by a minute. They will be allowed inside the centre two hours in advance of the exam commencement time.
