Search on for land parcels for Foxconn manufacturing unit

HYDERABAD: The government has shortlisted a 200-acre land parcel in Kongarakalan in Ranga Reddy district and another in Dundigal in Medchal-Malkajgiri district as the proposed site to house the Foxconn electronic manufacturing plant.

A day after the government entered into an MoU with Foxconn on the plant, officials of the industries and revenue departments initiated the process to identify a suitable land parcel for the project.

"The government is ready to allot any land parcel that the company seeks. The final selection of the site lies with the Foxconn management," sources said.

Officials submitted the details of land parcels to industries minister K.T. Rama Rao who referred it to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for approval.

The land parcels were also shown to the leadership team of Foxconn. It is learnt that they were in favour of setting up their plant at Kongarakalan.

The site is said to be very close to the Ranga Reddy integrated district collectorate complex in Kongarakalan.
