The CBI had arrested Buchi Babu in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case
A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court of Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji on Wednesday ordered notice to the State Bank of India in a writ petition challenging the vires of Section 154 of the Criminal Procedure Code.(Representional Image: DC))
Hyderabad: A Delhi court reserved its order on the bail petition of Hyderabad-based auditor Gorantla Buchi Babu till March 6. The CBI had arrested Buchi Babu in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case. He is lodged in Tihar jail.
The CBI in its counter affidavit said bail should not be granted as the case was under investigation and the accused may tamper with evidence and influence witnesses. The CBI has alleged that Buchi Babu played a key role by representing the South Group in the Delhi liquor scam.
