KT Rama Rao inspects cable bridge works

L&T engineers informed Rama Rao that the cable-stayed bridge is in the final phase of completion.

HYDERABAD: Municipal administration and urban development minister K.T. Rama Rao made a surprise inspection of the ongoing works at the Durgam Cheruvu cable-stayed bridge.

While carrying out the inspection, the minister instructed officials and contract agencies to ensure that there are pedestrian ways and lighting systems to ensure complete safety for users of the bridge. He enquired about the various stages of the ongoing works.

L&T engineers informed Rama Rao that the cable-stayed bridge is in the final phase of completion.

The minister emphasised that officials must complete construction of the bridge on time, if necessary by increasing manpower and deploying additional equipment.

Mr Rama Rao also walked along the Jubilee Hills road number 45 to Inorbit mall as part of his surprise visit.

He inspected construction works on the flyover coming up on road number 45 and instructed that it be completed on time for convenience of people.

The minister told TRANSCO officials that they expedite shifting of power lines, so that works pending on the flyover could be completed.

The officials assured the minister that the power lines will be shifted within two weeks.

The minister said completion of all these works will help ease traffic congestion in the IT corridor.
