Vijayawada: A 19-year-old student, Anagani Kartik, of Neet coaching institute allegedly committed suicide on Saturday in the hostel at Kanur.
Kartik hailed from Sikhavadapalli, Chittoor district and was taking long term Neet coaching in the Vikas Vikas Medical Academy.
His parents alleged that harassment by the management of Vikas Medical Academy led to Kartik taking the extreme step. They reached Vijayawada from Kuwait after getting the sad news from Kartik’s friends.
Kartik’s father said that his son was not a coward to commit suicide. He alleged that they did not get any information about the suicide from the management.
He also said that his son had recently complained about the quality of the food provided by the hostel.
Penamulu inspector V. Peddi Raju said that Kartik committed suicide in the washroom. A case was registered based on the complaint of the college principal.
