Nellore: Idgah development work at Dargah to raise capacity

The mayor said that 20,000 people would be able to offer prayers at the Idgah once the work is completed.

Nellore: Urban development minister P. Narayana said that they plan to complete the construction of a shelter at the Idgah at popular Bara Shaheed Dargah by April this year.

The minister inspected the ongoing work with Mayor SK Abdul Aziz on Saturday. Referring to the Rs 4.5 crore being spent on the development works at Bara Shaheed Dargah, he said that they have given the construction work to a reputed contracting firm to ensure quality in the execution of works.

The mayor said that 20,000 people would be able to offer prayers at the Idgah once the work is completed. He thanked Mr Narayana for taking up various development works for Muslim community including AC Shadi Manjil being built at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore at Kotamitta.

The minister and the mayor inspected the ongoing development works in Nellore City on Saturday. The minister laid foundation stone for a bridge on Sarveypalli canal at 18th Division besides a dhobi ghat in 50th division.

Meanwhile some Brahmin associations led by corporator Vuchhi Bhuvaneswar Prasad felicitated Mr Narayana at a Kalyana Mandapam for developing Nellore City.
