Hyderabad: An 11-year-old boy was run over by a school bus which he had just deboarded from to go home on Saturday afternoon. The accident occured when B. Varun had bent down in front of the bus and the driver could not see him.
Varun was studying in Class 6 in Shiva Sai High School, Chilkur. The incident occurred at about 2.15 pm.
Moinabad inspector G. Venkateshwarlu said two of Varun’s brothers had crossed the road. Varun’s bottle fell to the ground and he bent down to pick it up. “The bus driver who couldn’t see the child ran over him,” Mr Venkateshwarlu said. The bus did not have an assistant.
Varun sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot. The school bus driver fled from the spot and the police is looking for him. Based on the complaint from Varun’s father B Sunil, the Moinabad cops registered a case under Section 304 (a) and further investigation is underway.
