Hyderabad High Court stays results of forest beat officers test

HC directed the TSPSC not to declare the results of the written test conducted to recruit 1,857 forest beat officers for eight weeks.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad High Court directed the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) not to declare the results of the written test conducted to recruit 1,857 forest beat officers for eight weeks.

Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao while dealing with a petition by R. Raghupathi Reddy challenging the notification issued by the TSPSC on August 15, 2017, for the recruitment granted the interim stay.

Counsel for petitioner K. Venkatesh Gupta submitted that as per the Rule 22 and 22(2)(c) of TS and Subordinate Service Rules 1996, two per cent of posts had to be reserved for ex-servicemen.

But the notification was without reserving the posts. The judge said, “Since prima facie the notification does not seem to indicate any reservation to ex-servicemen as mandated in Rules of 1996, there shall be interim direction as prayed for, for eight weeks.” He posted the case for eight weeks.
