CPI state meet: CM Pinarayi Vijayan autocratic, revenue minister ineffctive
Malappuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and revenue minister E. Chandrasekharan came under criticism during the general discussion on the political report at the CPI state conference in Malappuram on Friday. A section of delegates criticised the style of functioning of the Chief Minister describing it as “autocratic.” They slammed the advisors of the chief ministers and accused them of working against the well-laid out positions of the LDF.
The delegates took a dig at the revenue minister, too, saying that having the name E Chandrashekharan is not enough for one to perform. They wanted the minister to take a cue from ministers like late E. Chandrashekharan Nair. A delegate criticised the pro-GST stand taken by finance minister Thomas Isaac and described him as “Swapnalokathinte Bala Bhaskaran.” There was also criticism against the central leadership for not utilising the service of young leaders like Kanhaiah Kumar. Some felt that the bureaucrats were still in the UDF hangover and required to be reined in.
