Hyderabad: Stray dogs bite power board man

Street dogs moving in groups have been creating a nuisance even at night with their barking.

Hyderabad: A bill collector of the electrical board from Nallakunta Shankar mutt was attacked by stray dogs in Baghlingampalli on Wednesday evening. The collector, Venkanna, was on duty, when the incident occurred. He escaped with minor injuries. Mr. Sai Baba from 3rd Phase, KPHB Colony says he is scared to walk in his streets. “Scary to walk on the roads at night and even during day time because to stray dogs trying to bite us and barking near Ramya grounds as well as Saibaba, Veera Brahmendraswami, Kanyakaparameswari temples.”

Mr K. Pawan, resident of Safari Nagar Colony, Kothaguda in Serilin-gampally has filed a complaint with the Indian consumer forum. He said, “We have been in trouble with the increase in the number of street dogs. They are wild and chasing people. It is difficult for us to take the children out for a walk.” Street dogs have been creating nuisance during the late night hours too. More than eight dogs move in groups and bark when people are asleep. There are also complaints of dogs entering houses and apartment gates. Street dogs within the residential colony of Deepthisree Nagar- Miyapur, pose a danger to people returning from work late at night, children and those going on walks. “Requests to the authorities have yielded no results.We are fed up of sleepless nights,” said D. S Shiva of Deepthi Sree Nagar, Madinaguda.
