Hyderabad: Only women to get licences on March 8 at Road Transport Authority

Officials from Hyderabad RTA have estimated that number of women having driving licence was only 5.64 percent of the 2.18 lakh issued.

Hyderabad: The Road Transport Authority will provide driving licence services exclusively to women on March 8 to mark the International Women’s Day.Officials from Hyderabad RTA have estimated that the number of women having driving licence was only 5.64 per cent of of the 2.18 lakh issued. They have decided to encourage women with driving skills to apply for licenes. Joint Transport Commissioner (JTC) J. Pandurang Naik said that the special mela for women would be held at all the zonal offices in city. “Applicants must book slots on website www.transport.telangana.gov.in and should select the date March 8. We have modified the application to accept only applications from women.
