Hyderabad: Several areas in the city experienced moderate to light rain on Wednesday. More of thunderstorm activity is expected till next week, a Met announcement here on Wednesday said.
Assistant meteorologist at India Meteorological Department (IMD) here, N. Narasimha Rao, said southeasterly and southerly moist winds were blowing over Telangana, causing instability in the atmosphere.
This and the availability of moisture brought about a change in the weather condition. “Cumulonimbus clouds developed over the city which resulted in rain and thunderstorms,” Mr Rao said. The change in weather conditions is a seasonal feature.
The forecast for the next five days is moderate rain or thundershowers that are more likely to occur at isolated places in the Telangana state and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rayalseema will remain dry.
The day temperatures will be lower by up to 3ºC and the night temperatures will be above normal, he said.
